Dear OWA members,
It is with humility and great pride I take on the privilege of being the President of the Optical Women's Association. We have seen the organization grow and prosper through the tireless efforts of the many women who have participated as Officers and Board Members since our inception in 1997.
I challenge each of you to consider ways that the organization can better serve you and continue our mission:
To enhance and promote the leadership role of women in the optical industry through networking, education, and peer support.
My goal is to continue to see the OWA grow and be meaningful to each member. Our success is based on new programs and ideas, many of which come from you. While we are all in the same industry, each of us brings our own unique perspective to the organization. This is invaluable to our success.
Also of vital importance is the support of our Professional Development Fund sponsors. I wish to thank each of them for their commitment to OWA.
We will continue to reach out to all facets of our industry and welcome those women to become a part of the OWA and enjoy the many benefits of membership. We will also continue to explore and implement ways to use today's advancing technologies to provide you with more touchpoints to the organization.
I would also challenge each of you to think how you can become more involved in the OWA. Committee membership is a great way to be more connected to the OWA and help us accomplish our mission. I can assure you that being involved allows you get to know some of the greatest women in the Optical Industry.
