Thanks to the efforts on the Power of One Campaign we had a great many exceptional women join or ranks in the past few months. Deciding who to select for our spotlight this month was a challenge! It is with great pleasure that we introduce Jessica Butler to the OWA.
Jessica has been in the optical industry for four years as owner and designer for Eye Power Kids Wear. She started the business because she hoped to help kids who need to wear patches feel comfortable and confident. She was inspired to do so when her own son was born with a Unilateral Congenital Cataract and needed to wear a patch. Eye Power Kids wear makes patches and t-shirts with fun designs on them to encourage kids to wear the patches they need. Jessica quipped that she may have done too good a job, when her daughter decorated the entire house with a whole box of the patches. She learned her lesson and stores them on the top shelf now!
As if balancing her work and home life raising her three kids with her husband isn't' enough, Jessica also joined the board for a non-profit called Great Glasses Play Day. Great Glasses play day is a day to celebrate kid's vision.
In her spare time, yes there is some, she crafts Christmas ornaments and designs t-shirts.
Welcome to the OWA, Jessica!
