My friends call me: Melissa or Mel I am the: Supervisor at VSP Optics Group I joined the OWA in:2015 Words my colleagues use to describe me are:Dependable, Logical, Active and Adaptable The career advice I would give my 18-year-old self is:To do what you love, continually learn and develop, be ok with making mistakes, trust yourself, listen more than you talk, be courageous, take chances and most importantly make friends along the way. When I think about my career, I'm most excited about:I am motivated by developing new skills and engaging in opportunities for continued learning for myself and my team. I enjoy building effective teams by assessing the current and future business needs and am very fortunate to work with a high functioning team that work well together and have fun. Daily, I read:I have a 3 year old daughter so it is guaranteed that I will read at least 2-3 toddler books a day. There are some pretty good ones out there that help remind me of life lessons – Rosie Revere, Giraffes Can’t Dance and Little Blue Truck to name a few. My theme song is:Upside Down by Jack Johnson I recommend:Be active, spend as much time outdoors as possible, travel to different countries, learn from those around you and every once in a while, try something that make you uncomfortable. |
