If you're a parent or someone with a pile of broken crayons that you just can't bring yourself to throw away, here's a simple trick to turn them into something new and exciting!

What You'll Need:

  • A cupcake pan (or a fun-shaped cookie pan)

  • Broken crayons (even large, thick ones work — just break them into smaller pieces)

  • A cooling rack

  • Some space to work!

  1. Peel the Paper: Start by peeling the paper off the broken crayons. If you have larger, thicker crayons, break them in half to fit better.

  2. Mix Colors: Once the crayons are ready, get creative! Combine different colors — think purple, pink, and orange, or whatever color combinations inspire you.

  3. Fill the Pan: Place your mixed crayons into the cups of the cupcake pan or cookie pan. Be careful not to overfill, as the crayons will melt and may overflow.

  4. Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (or 400°F for a quicker melt). Pop the pan into the oven and bake for about 10 minutes. Keep an eye on them, checking occasionally to ensure the crayons are melting evenly.

  5. Cool Down: Once fully melted, carefully remove the pan from the oven. Let it sit until the crayons cool and harden completely. A cooling rack works great for this step.

  6. Enjoy: Once they're fully set, you've got brand new, colorful crayons! Your kids (or anyone else!) will love using them for all their creative projects.

This simple and eco-friendly craft not only gives new life to old crayons but also provides a fun, hands-on project for everyone to enjoy!
