Slow to start, but worth the ending
Theo of Golden by Allen Levi is feel-good novel about an 86-year-old man who arrives in a small Southern town called Golden. Theo embarks on a mission of purchasing portraits of the townspeople which are showcased at the local coffee shop and returning each one to its subject. All he asks in return is a little about their story. It touches on generosity, connection, and simple acts of kindness that can truly change a life. I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars. The beginning can feel slow at parts, but the payoff in the final chapters is absolutely more than worth the wait.
