Pandemic Pressure

As we reflect on the impact of COVID-19 this past year, it appears women have been more affected than our male counterparts in some aspects of our lives, particularly in the workforce.

The balance of remote work, remote learning for children, and household activities proved too heavy a burden for many. According to the U.S. Census Bureau and U.S. Labor Statistics Survey last September, when many schools resumed online learning, 80% of the 1.1 million people who exited the workforce were women.

Throughout 2020, McKinsey shared that females considered downshifting or even leaving their careers altogether at an accelerated rate.

Now we want to hear from our members. As a female in the optical industry, how have you been impacted in your work and personal life?

We've created a short survey to learn more about how COVID-19 has impacted our members. Our goal is to share the results in our next newsletter.
