Dear OWA Members,
2020 has been an unprecedented year. My heart goes out to all those adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and the many other difficulties faced this year. While we all dealt with significant changes, loss, and the insecurities of not knowing what will come next, our need to celebrate, adapt and grow allowed the OWA to flourish and further our mission of advancing the leadership roles of women in the optical industry.
Despite the pandemic, we've gained more than 100 new members this year and have earned the support of four new sponsors. Most importantly, we've been able to reach even more women extending beyond the typical member profile and going deeper into the organizations we serve.
The members of OWA rose to the challenge, quickly mobilizing to adapt to the virtual world creating new and better ways for women to connect, inspire and lead. We've delivered new programs to further inclusiveness and the connections that are vital to us all.
As we start to close out the year, we are excited to share the ways the OWA has grown and supported our members in 2020. Seeing all the ways we adapted and thrived as an organization in this year of challenges gives me so much hope, excitement, and energy for what's to come for the OWA and our industry in 2021.
Be well,
Robyn Crimmins
OWA President
