The popular OWA Connection Series program during Vision Expo West (Thursday, September 14, 2017, noon - 1:30 p.m.) will be based upon one of this year's member-benefit book selections — Emotional Intelligence 2.0.

Authored by Dr. Travis Bradberry, Emotional Intelligence 2.0 is a book with a single purpose — increasing your emotional intelligence (EQ). EQ is the ability to recognize, control, and express our own emotions and to handle interpersonal relationships. It could be your key to both personal and professional success.

Sponsored by ABB Optical Group, the Connection Series event will include a panel built around the topic and moderated by Erinn Morgan, the Editor-in-Chief & Editorial Director of the award-winning Eyecare Business magazine. This panel of industry professionals knows what EQ is and knows how to use it for recruitment, staffing, and as leaders in their organizations.

"ABB is proud to sponsor this year's 20th anniversary Connection series event. We have built a reputation over the last 30 years, under the leadership of Angel Alvarez, of connecting the practices that we all serve with valuable resources to position them for growth," said Nan Meehan. "This year's topic of 'Emotional Intelligence' is a conscious way for all of us to insightfully create the best teams we can by using EQ 2."
