The OWA would like to welcome one of its newest members, Amy Applegate. Amy handles all aspects of print and web design for The Vison Council, creating almost every report, campaign image, and eblast that you see from The Vision Council.
Amy's personal expertise is Graphic Design: print, layout, email and even web design. She offers a unique perspective on graphic design tailored specifically to the optical industry. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and has applied her knowledge for the past 12 years — and still enjoys it!
Amy joined the OWA as her employer, The Vision Council, has always been a strong supporter of our organization and its efforts. So much so that The Vision Council offers every employee the opportunity to join the OWA each year. As a new member, Amy looks forward to further engaging with the networking opportunities, learning via seminars, and seeking professional advice from other influential women in the optical industry.
Amy spends most of her time with her husband, Jeff, and her rescue dog, Baxter. Baxter has slowly become the ruler of the house. They take many trips to the dog park and doggie daycare. Baxter enjoys canine cruises down the Potomac River with other dogs and their owners. Amy, Jeff and Baxter are also big baseball fans, and have season tickets to see the Washington Nationals play. Baxter even has his own Nat's jersey, which he (sometimes) loves to wear.
Amy played the violin for ten years as a kid and recently picked it back up. So when you see her at a future OWA event, be sure to ask her about it!
