My friends call me: Kristan

I am the: Global Head, Knowledge: Advocacy & Partnerships at OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation

I joined the OWA in:2015

Words my colleagues use to describe me are:Authentic, inspirational, personable, advocate, empathetic, smart (haha! I swear someone said this!), natural convener

The career advice I would give my 18-year-old self is:A job worth having will never require you to compromise your character. Stay true to your principles and always be uniquely you!

When I think about my career, I'm most excited about:When I joined the eyecare sector in 2007, I was told that this "vision care thing" would get in my blood. I had no idea what that meant for many of my years in the industry, but 15 years later, I'm still here. My most recent roles have given me the opportunity to explore the bigger WHY of this industry, and I'm thrilled to be part of an organization leading the way to eliminate uncorrected poor vision in this generation.

Daily, I read:My Bible, and I always have at least one book I'm devouring. I'm a big fan of all things fiction.

My theme song is:You Say by Lauren Daigle

I recommend:I recommend living your best life in every season. Today, I find myself in a completely different season of life than when I joined the industry - each has had its own challenges and joys. I recommend embracing each step of the journey! Oh - and grandkids! I recommend them highly!
