There are many reasons to become an individual contributor of the OWA. As one of our contributors states, "It truly makes me feel good knowing that I am doing a small part to support all of the incredible women of our industry, so many who have faced past adversity in a male-dominated business and who are now leaders in their own right. Knowing I am personally supporting these women is a true benefit unto itself."
Dust off your résumé and check out the latest industry job opportunities on the OWA Job Board. Or if you have a role to fill, post your job opening to find the best talent in optical.
"Food for Thought . . . where food breaks down barriers and brings us all to the table!"
Food for Thought was created to facilitate dialogue with our neighbors and to embrace and highlight the diversity of our OWA members. Gathering together at the table promotes fellowship and provides a place of love and peace. If you have a recipe to feature in Food for Thought, send your submission to .
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, consider adding a Canadian twist to one of your special meals. Suzanne Sendel's use of cranberry sauce in her sweet and sour meatballs and Canadian maple syrup to sweeten the glaze of her Brussels sprouts delivers just the right amount of holiday sugar and spice!
Each year, the annual OWA award honorees receive $1000 each to put toward a charity of their choosing. The Charities of Choice selected for 2021 are A New Way of Life Reentry Project, selected by Pleiades recipient Gai Gherardi, and the Dallas International Street Church, selected by Pyxis recipient Debbie Myres. If you would like to make an additional contribution to either of these charities please visit their respective donation pages.
