Over the years, there has been on and off discussion about the possibility of having men as members of the OWA. We've started this discussion again within the Board and would like to share with you our process of considering this change. Since we know many of you have opinions on the topic, we want to involve you in the discussion!
Earlier this year we did a survey to capture your first wave of input regarding the potential value of having a membership category for men. We've taken this input and are preparing a summary of the concept, the pros, and the cons of including men as members of the OWA. We'll share that summary with you and welcome your comments on it, as well as reach out to past OWA leadership for their perspectives.
Once all the information and comments have been collected, the Board will discuss whether this is a viable option and offers value to our membership. The Board will then vote on whether or not to move forward. After that, we'll put it out for a membership vote to allow you, as our membership, to decide. Stay tuned and please let us know if you have any questions in the meantime.
