OWA Welcomes Incoming President Laurie Badone and Announces New Board MemberCelebrating the leadership of women in the optical industry, the Optical Women's Association (OWA) welcomes the 2010 board of directors. Laurie Badone of Carl Zeiss Vision serves as President. Audrey Pavia of Tura LP joins the board for a two year term. Optical Women's Association Hosts 10th Annual Vision Expo West EventLas Vegas — The OWA hosted the 10th annual cocktail party and networking event on Friday, October 2, 2009 during Vision Expo West. The event was a meet-and-greet, attended by over 225 OWA members and guests, that included cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, a raffle for various designer items donated by OWA sponsors and an address from incoming President, Laurie Badone. The event offered an opportunity for these industry professionals to network with one another and to learn more about OWA educational and mentoring programs. President's LetterWe have seen the OWA grow and prosper through the tireless efforts of the many women who have participated as officers and board members since our inception in 1997. My goal is to continue to see the OWA grow and be meaningful to each member, and to challenge each of you to think how you can become more involved in the OWA. I can assure you that being involved allows you get to know some of the greatest women in the optical industry.
